Ordinary life. Turned up.
Indricity is the solo alternative-rock project of Perth musician Ben Indrisie, built around heavy guitars, melodic hooks and a perspective shaped by ordinary life under pressure.
The songs live in familiar places: roads between work and home, suburban streets, routines that keep moving without getting anywhere, relationships under strain, and the quiet absurdity of people trying to hold everything together. Ben writes about that world without dressing it up. The lyrics are grounded and emotionally direct, with a dry observational edge that can be funny without turning the music into a joke.
Musically, Indricity sits between alternative rock, post-grunge and hard rock, with alt-metal weight around the edges. The project draws from the tension, groove and melodic force of late-’90s and early-2000s guitar music, but it is not an exercise in recreating that period. Those influences are part of the vocabulary; the songs are about life now.
Recent releases The Commute, Suburban Chaos and The Next Sunny Town mark the clearest version of that identity. They turn repetition, frustration and suburban sameness into songs that feel heavy without posturing, melodic without becoming polished empty rock, and mature without making age the premise.
Indricity is written, recorded and developed independently by Ben in Perth. The result is lived-in alternative rock: loud enough to carry the pressure, specific enough to feel true.
