ARTIST BIO
Indricity is the solo alternative rock project of Perth musician Ben Indrisie, built around heavy guitars, melodic hooks and the kind of slightly worn-down suburban perspective that comes with having lived through a few decades of rock music.
Drawing from the weight and melody of bands such as Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Filter and Fuel, Indricity takes the sound of late-'90s and early-2000s alternative rock and pushes it forward rather than treating it as nostalgia.
The project is deliberately independent and hands-on, with each release forming part of an expanding catalogue of guitar-driven songs about work, routine, ageing, suburbia and the strange humour buried inside everyday life.
THE SOUND
Heavy without being metal. Melodic without becoming polished pop. Indricity sits between post-grunge, alternative rock and hard rock, with distorted guitars, strong choruses and a dry, observational lyrical style.

The Next Sunny Town is a song about movement without necessarily getting anywhere.
Originally written around 2006, the track was rebuilt twenty years later from a completely different point in life. What once felt like a song about escaping suburban sameness now carries another layer: the realisation that towns change, years pass and circumstances move on, while some patterns remain remarkably familiar.
Heavy guitars and a melodic chorus sit underneath lyrics about repetition, suburbia and the strange feeling of continually moving forward while somehow ending up somewhere that looks just like the place you left.
Rather than recreating the sound of the early 2000s, The Next Sunny Town takes those influences and views them through twenty more years of experience.
